Summit Performing Ensembles
The Summit High School Band Program offers a variety of ensembles throughout the year, giving every student opportunities to grow as a musician, performer, and teammate. From the excitement of marching season to concert performances, jazz, percussion, and color guard, each ensemble plays an important role in our program.
Whether you're performing on the football field, on the concert stage, or in competition, every ensemble helps students develop musical excellence, leadership, discipline, and lifelong friendships. Explore each ensemble below to learn more.
Marching Band
The Summit Marching Band is the heart of our fall season, performing at football games, contests, pep rallies, and community events. Students develop musicianship, teamwork, and performance skills while representing Summit High School across Texas.

Concert Band
Concert Band season allows students to focus on musicianship through rehearsals, concerts, and UIL Concert & Sight-Reading. Students are placed into ensembles based on auditions and continue developing their musical skills throughout the spring semester.
Color Guard
Color Guard combines dance, movement, equipment work, and performance artistry to bring music to life through visual storytelling. Members perform alongside the marching band during the fall and continue developing their skills through rehearsals, performances, and competitions, showcasing precision, creativity, and teamwork.

Percussion/Drumline
Often called the heartbeat of the ensemble, Summit's percussion section provides the rhythm and energy that drive every performance. Through marching band, concert performances, and drumline competitions, students build musicianship, discipline, confidence, and teamwork in a challenging and rewarding environment.
Jazz Band
Jazz Band gives students the opportunity to explore swing, funk, rock, Latin, and contemporary styles while developing improvisation and ensemble performance skills.
